Leh calamity,death toll reaches 135, hundreds missing still

Offical sources said that hundreds of missing people are feared washed away in the calamity.
They said the collective consciousness of the nation awakening in this hour of distress was evident when six surgeons from amongst the civilians including those who had come there for a holiday, toiled for over twenty- four hours shoulder to shoulder with the Army surgeons and doctors, to bring relief and succour to over 300 civilian patients, carrying out 22 major life saving surgeries and 45 of a lesser degree. There are 94 people, who are still admitted, with the condition of 76 being considered serious.
